Part-time Work Restrictions for International Students
Eligibility Requirements
Limited to full-time students at public universities (e.g., NUS/NTU/SMU) and polytechnics, and must hold a student pass issued by the ICA.
Private institution students are generally prohibited from working part-time, with the exception of some accredited institutions (e.g., James Cook University, Singapore).
Must be 14 years of age or older.
Working Hours
During semester hours: ≤ 16 hours per week. Exceeding hours may affect student pass status.
Holidays (e.g., June-August, December-January): Full-time work permitted.
Prohibited Industries
Entertainment venues (e.g., nightclubs, casinos, etc.) and private tutoring (unless registered through an institution) are prohibited.
